One last entry while we still have internet access. The laptop for some reason won't talk to the satphone so until Chichijima the only blog entries we will enter will be via Aaron Eddington on the satphone. Aaron is our emergency contact and has been doing a great job of keeping us up to dateon the weather. Thanks Aaron!!
We left the port about 30mins ago to be seen off by a turtle which raised it's head out of the water and looked up at us. Shortly afterward we saw a very large Bat fish (Platax orbiculous) pass the boat. It was one of the first marine fish I kept thus I remember the name.
The sea state is fantastic. 0.5 metre swell. Winds are around 12 knots from the east. We will head SSE once we round the island. Despite the somewhat flat seas the hammock of fruit is swinging wildly and I am concerned if we don't get through it soon the hammock will break.
Signing off.
