Its a good anchorage .You cant get close to the beach , There are to many floating coke bottles with some rope on it and fishing nets. It blows a good 32-35 knots ..every afternoon. So we went for a walk , left the dinghy at Carlos , the friendly fisherman. We walked all the way up to the light house .It has a great view and back to the kite surfer hang out. Had a nice conversation with 2 Swiss kite surfers or what ever they call them selfs. Times have changed how i traveled around the world in the 1970's and how its done today . Some travel with several kites and boards ,others just buy one here on the beach . A complet kit sets you back 3000$ They zoom up and down the beach and when they tack or gibe? , they do this frog leap in the air. It looks like fun and quiet fascinating how some of em do it with such ease. But after a while its like watching somebody rowing .Its boring and not something i could watch all day. The crashes look very violent ,and i am sure the surgeons love to sew you up again when all you're knee ligaments are torn to bids . Its strange to see our young people with all this wealth living among those people in poverty. Its the same for me and my white yacht. You work a few months in Europe and bingo , you can surf among the poor for 2 or more years. Similar when i hitch hiked to Afghanistan in 1970 , 21 years old with A THOUSAND DOLLARS !! in my pocket .And they had nothing. I dont know why this bothers me today. Maybe because i lost the illusion that i , or somebody could help them to help them selfs . They are going to be poor in 20 years and Bill Gates will have even more billions. The women here sell hand made bags. Some of them paint their faces with a black stain. It looks eerie . I tried to smile at them and said hello . I even pretended to buy such a bag. But i couldn't make them smile The others with the mask are very friendly and smile a lot. A few shops with souvenirs and kite surfer bars and restaurants. The rest is dust and heavy wind. We sail tomorrow morning to Puerto Velero...its a night trip..oh well.
