The anchorage in this quiet bay is very pleasant. No swell no violent custs, no bugs. I was so happy with this place , so i thought i ll give it a try to clear in. A very friendly marinero walked with us to the office to check the rates. Clearing in is Free here....yuppee . BUT you must stay in the marina for at least 4 days. Thats 240 US $ for our 42ft cat. They are proud to be the only agent in this bay. Cool i said, so you can do it all here." Ah no senior, you must go to Baranquilla and find customs AND Immigration". No buses here, so you need a taxi for a day.Thats about 200 $ . I asked if this takes more then 5 minutes....Oh yes senoir..many forms....maybe a full day.
I did not say: " So why the Fff are you my agent and I have to get it all myself" !!
He also insisted that i wouldn't have to pay anything anymore in Cartagena. If you read the web..you know....its not true. You pay in every port till youre broke or fed up. To bad this lovely country shoots itself in the foot with this procedure. Not many yachts will come. This marina is empty and the travell lift is not assembled yet. What ever you see on their website is fake news...hihihi but the pricees are real. I ll try to find some wind tomorrow for the 52 miles to Cartagena...if not : we have loads of diesel. The people are super friendly and the strong winds are history. The radio has tons of good music..i love this country
