NKE instrument dead

From one second to the next our nav data display went blank. We have 3 of those fancy NKE Multigraphs . 2 off them on the steering stations and one inside on the navigation table. I bought because all the Vendee
Globe and Mini Transat racers have them . I thought i would be cool and didn't worry to pay three times as much as the other brands. A French technician that was a big fan off them helped me to erase my doubts.
I only had trouble with them since day one.
Recently we spend a full 5 days trying to hook up a GPS to it. We didn't know how and why we spend almost a week on this. Now i know!! We learned how to disconnect each of them and make each one THE
MASTER. They need a master and yesterday the master died. That means nothing works anymore not even the slaves. If you dont know how to make a master out of a slave you are fucked. The instruction manual
does NOT mention this.
It took Daniela a few minutes to configure it all while we had a spare American autopilot helping with the French disaster.
Now it works again , that means the two slaves have become independent . Inside the master in the salon is still dead.....its only 1800 Euro for a new one .Plus shipping and tax here , an easy 2500.-
We are now able to connect with the satellite sometimes and get weather and mails. That's good news .Plus we sailed 140 miles yesterday despite the many motoring hours. Last night was another night with squalls no
wind then too much wind and rain and wet ass cause the pants are leaking.
We are now over the half way mark. Its till 400 miles to Gambier.
Sailing gets you tired in light winds .Hope we get steadier winds now. The forecast doesn't tell you about squalls and no wind zones, only an average wind.
poor me and us yawn yawn ...
cant even get Radio New Zealand , so i dont know anything about tennis in Australia.
