The Easterly breeze is gentle and the sun is out. Good time to take a little walk on the windward side. I meet Lise, Gill and Gerard. They are always happy to see new faces and just like me, its a great
opportunity to stop working . We chat a little and then Gerard offers me to be my guide to find a good spot where the cell phone might work. Ok , off we go .He/she puts on her tiny bikini and the dogs are
happy to go for a walk.
We watch the frigging frigate birds as they try to steal fish from other birds.
We talk about the fabulous fish they gave me yesterday and i asked her if they always get 10 groupers in 30 minutes."Oh yeah" same spot , there is always fish. And what do you do with these expensive fish,
i ask . How does one keep them for long without a fridge.
Its easy : they ate 3, Rolf got one and the other 6 or 7 they cook and give them to the dogs!!!
I wonder what you pay for grouper and yellow fin tuna in Canada or worse : in Switzerland!! Probably 40 to 50$ /kilo
You wouldn't feed that to your pets. So we sit and talk about the world some more and try to get a signal. I get 2 bars and then nothing at all. She gets nothing either ...so tuff tits, and we walk home. There
used to be a 40 meter tower with radio and telephone antennas in Otepa. When it was replaced the budget only permitted a 20 meter tower. So no more radio and telephone here.
I help Daniela to scrub the waterline, and in the afternoon they want us to plant a sprouting coconut, so if we come back in 10 years, there should be a Daniela and Rolf palm. Not a bad idea. I take a siesta in
flat calm turquoise water. In 2 days it might get windy here, but we are safe and far away from any covit or other trouble. The gout is a lot better : i walk without sticks..
Leo another motu copra man came by with some friends to say hi and offered me to show us the kings grave in Nake. You haven't been to Hao if you haven't seen the grave, they say here. Its on the program
for tomorrow.
