DAY2 182 miles

we always get at least 5 knots more wind than the grib forecast says. Why? We use GFS...cant complain about the wind ; its from ESE 22 -25 knots with dark clouds around, otherwise 18-20knots. We tried to
sail fast thru the night and did 8.5 to 9.5 knots, usually the old captain reduces it to below 8 at night so he can sleep better. But with the wind slightly from behind it was ok...until he saw 10k and reduced the
genoa to slow her down.
We are getting into our daily routines 3 h on 3 h sleep at night . I eat my chicken at night and Daniela finds something in the fridge. I sit with my back to the front and watch the southern cross fading away.
Like with all goodbye's an new hello is here : the big dipper.
Today no ships on the AIS. AIS is a beeper all big ships must have. It continuously sends out his position, name, speed, course and destination. This appears automatically on my navigation chart. It even tells
you when you are the closest or worse : when you gonna crash. That way its easy to change course to avoid an accident. I have a AIS receiver but i don't have a transmitter yet. So other yachts and ships cannot
see me , i can see THEM. Its on the shopping list.
The autopilot went into wind mode and pushed the boat in to a tack.... I don't know what i pushed wrong. After a few hectic restarts with waking up Daniela, it does his job again , thank God.
Also had trouble downloading my weather. To many mails blocked it. So i asked my fans to mail me to Inmarsat. I will see how this goes. Sailmail is often not functioning during the day.
i have to get IRIDIUM GO or Elon Musks satelite internet...it seems to work for yachts.
