Like her owners, Zen has formed a bond with some great folks here in Whangarei, NZ. We just found out one of the guys putting some serious sweat into Zen's shine is a semi-professional cricket player. Ian Page, age 22, broke a national cricket batting record a couple days ago, making front page news. Cricket player by weekend, boat builder on the weekdays. Ian is just one of about 15 people dedicated to our refit project. Tomorrow they'll all be on hand to get Zen in the water. At some point next week, we'd like to have them join us for a test sail where we'll do the work and they can relax after many hours of labor.

Zen's got cool neighbors. This one is quite special. Godzilla is her name, but the owners simply call her Doggie. Zen's mama, who is missing her own 15-yr old puppy, finds herself visiting this youngster on a daily basis.





Although we'll be happy to pop champagne on Zen's bows after 3 months spent on the 'hard', we'll definitely miss our friends from the boat yard.
