Plus (Plew) Provisioning!

His teammate stole another lure from us, but this player lost to Team Zen. "Ttttssszzzz" pause. Again, moments later, "Ttttssszzzz". That's the sound of the starboard fishing rod. Like Pavlov's dogs, the sound triggers the mayhem...it's become less frenzied, but it's still a funny sight to behold. Everyone has a job. Someone slows the boat down, another person reels in the rod, another gets the bat (needed to quickly kill the opponent) and the gaff and finally the camera, cutting board and fillet knife. During the first half of the game, the score was Zen 1, Fish 4. Four represents the lures given to Neptune on this passage to the Marquesas. As we enter the 3rd quarter, the score is now Zen 2, Fish 5. Just minutes after discovering another lure was gone on the starboard side, the port fishing rod starts humming. The underdogs were ready. The fight was fought, but in the end, we gained another 3 or 4 meals of fresh tuna. Other than adding "plus (French for 'more') provisioning", we also enjoyed our spinnaker for the first time on this leg. It lasted a few hours, but finally collapsed, and had to be bagged. We are becalmed amidst some doldrums and motoring right now. But motoring has its benefits...like swimming! Stop the boat and jump right into your own backyard. Yes, the Burgess gang swam about 1400 miles from land. Out here the ocean has some funny animals in it, like 18-inch long sea worms, strange looking jelly fish that resemble air bubbles with long bright blue tails, and insects that walk in the top of the water. Wonder what tomorrow will bring.
