Tim Richard
Tim's turn for the blog, so I will bring you up to date on the first 24 hours of Zephyr's passage from Lanzarote to Lymington.

We departed at midday on Friday 7th May with a crew consisting of: The Patron Micky, Captain David and bilge cleaners Ricky and Tim. We had trouble with one of the fridges not working thus necessitating a visit from a local refrigeration engineer. Unfortunately his efforts were in vain and we departed with extra ice and a non-functioning fridge. The upside of this being that we had lovely, large ice cubes for our pre-dinner G&T.

The sun was shining and conditions were good, we had 12-20knt winds, albeit from the direction we wanted to travel!

As the gastronomic delights of Lanzarote were fading into the distance Micky set about preparing our first dinner at sea. Annoyingly he has set the bar very high with an excellent boeuf bourgoignon, all washed down with an acceptable red. The Pedro Ximenez making the fruit desert delicious. This will be a hard act to follow.

The crew easily moved into a watch pattern and interesting things were soon learned about new crew mates. Ricky has an amazing skill of sliding into his bunk at 12:03 and be snoring by 12:08. A very enviable talent to have. It's great to have Micky and David onboard who know the boat so well and are able to bring the rest of the crew up to speed.

So, early days but all is well with a happy crew onboard the good ship Zephyr.
