You would have thought that after 8 Transats Dynamo Dave would have mastered every aspect of a long passage but even he has struggled to produce the perfectly smooth course for the benefit of the rookies. After an idyllic 36 hours the wind picked up (including a 40 knot gust) and we experienced our first squall which explains the dress code for this photo of David and Lola.

With threatening weather patterns to the north we have elected to go further South, which will add perhaps 5 hours to the ETA. There has been active onboard betting on the length of the passage with a spread of 15 - 18 days. We left at midday on Dec 2nd and James's flight home is in the evening of Dec 20th, so hopefully one of us is right!

We have travelled 1100 miles in 6 days and have another 1800 to go. If we keep up the current pace the author will have lost his bet!
