A very deep low pressure (972mb) to the north of us left us bereft of wind for 12 hours. We resorted to engine power to get us to the north of the light airs left behind. It did however, give us time for a welcomed mid-ocean dip.

NOTE TO ALL SAILORS: even with all the sails down and barely a zephyr of wind, the boat was still moving alarmingly fast.

Micky, wisely stayed onboard, whilst the rest of us leapt into an ocean so blue that words cannot describe. The danger wasn't the depth or the isolation, it was the thousands of portuguese men of war that have appeared over the last few days.
