Late on the blog writing today, so must be quick to not miss out on a very exciting milestone of the first G&T on the boat with ice!

More motoring and frustrating wind so far. Sails have gone up and down as we try to thread our way between the light patches to find the wind.

We have had a little more life out at sea today, still thousands of portugese man o war, a few birds, still no fish, and Harry spotted an orca (which conveniently nobody else saw, and never surfaced within sight again) and boat with a couple of Frenchmen are nearby. George used his spy training to communicate with them in French, while they continued to speak to us in English.

On a more sober note, we got news today that David's mother died this morning. Sad news that we thought was beautifully summed up by Michael G in an email which would be fitting to end with: "Well, end of an era. We were lucky to know her and will always carry our memories of such a very special lady.... very sad for those she has left behind but in a way a blessing that her time came with virtually no quality of life, such a trial for a lady so full of life and so active."
