We finished with customs and left the dock about 1pm on Monday. Winds have been light, with squally conditions and most on the noise and we have been motor sailing on and off to put some miles behind us. Being at the dock for six months have left us with no sea legs, so we are just trying to take it easy and just keep the boat moving. 880 miles to go.
After buying Zephyra in 2001 and enjoying her for 5 years on Lake Tahoe, we moved her to San Francisco. We started our cruise with the 2007 Windjammer's race from San Francisco to Sant Cruz and then the Baja HaHa. We have been on the boat since. [...] After over a year in Mexico, we sailed south through Central America and jumped from Panama to the Galapagos. We then sailed to the Marquesas, Manihi, Society Islands, Cook Islands, Niue and Tonga.
