So goodbye to all of you back on land we are OFF again. Wow, its seems a long time ago since we were boiling hot water for dishes and finding places to stay each night, but here we are. It has been a long time though and it seems even more so because we have moved from summer to fall. My short glorious moments of sailing in the summer sun are gone (for just awhile, Caribbean here we come!!!!!) and now fall is in the air. The sun is setting earlier and the breeze getting cooler. We are leaving the Great Lakes and starting the next chapter. Today we set sail for the Sandbanks, an area along the shoreline of Eastern Lake Ontario. We needed to make our way to Oswego where we enter the canal. Our original plan was to sail straight across, about a 60NM sail but the winds were strong against us so we decided to ease back into things by going part way and anchored in Athol Bay. Being back out on the water felt great, the solitude comforting, time to ponder all that took place the last few weeks. The Lake was deserted, no freighter action, no fishing boats, just Doug, myself and Zippy.
