I need to sum up our time in Cascais, Portugal. As with each country and place we land, our experience is unique to that place. I think what was unique here was becoming part of this church full of people who were also away from home. The pastors have build a wonderful place where people can find a new family and build bonds with others like themselves. The diversity amongst the people was wonderful and beautiful to be around and extremely educational. People all finding a commonality in their differences. But it was more than that, it was building some relationships I hope are life long. We meet people everywhere we go, (not so much in Spain as mentioned) but I dont think we have connected quite as closely as with the people here. A few factors in here being the similarity of the Western culture, very good English spoken and the common experience of living in different places around the world (it gives one a unique perspective). What opened us up to it all was our need to connect. God answered that need.
