There was more that happened in Cascais though. There was the question of this lifestyle really brought forward. We met a couple who left their life in America two years ago and went on the road. I guess you could say they are doing the same thing out of a car. They have been a lot of places but arrived in Cascais tired. The first Sunday after church we were introduced, the woman was crying and it seemed there was some heavy stuff on both their minds. I wanted badly to hear what they had to say. They shared a little right than and there and we agreed to continue the conversation over dinner. This never happened but she shared more in an email. They had started out feeling like they needed to slow down and by the second week in Cascais decided they needed to stay. They ran out and bought a house! Wow, what a big decision. This knowledge along with meeting this beautiful group of people at this church has created more confusion in me than ever. I have the need to settle in one place, get established, build longer term relationships, choose a few interests and pour myself into them. Coming and going can be hard, meeting people, sharing some time together and leaving is to heart breaking.
