iPhoto is Apple Computer's photo management utility. It is part of the base iLife suite of applications that are bundled with new purchases of Apple Macintosh computers.
Preparing Images for Upload
iPhoto can be used to create more efficient copies of images to be uploaded to the SailBlogs server. See Pre-processing images for more information.
Slideshows
Apple's iPhoto image management application offers the ability to create a slideshow with effects and music and save it as a QuickTime movie. If you have a SailBlogsVR or XJSail Premium Membership, you can load a QuickTime clip with a blog post instead of an image.
SailBlogs' 6MB file size limit will allow you to create a slideshow of up to about 30 images, depending on options used in the slideshow. Here are some tips for reducing the file size and making your show more efficient:
- In the slideshow settings, turn OFF the automaic Ken Burns Effect - this will make the movie noticably smaller
- Use only the medium or small size for the final movie
- Use lower quality (or no) music/audio.
