Here is the crew: Art and Marc with Amy peeking out from behind and finally myself humbly in the background. We are all wearing our Breast Cancer Awareness T-Shirts. NELLEKE was participating in a program to raise awareness of the issue of breast cancer.

Even Periwinkle came down to the docks to wish us luck.

Just barely getting around the start mark. Due to some tacking confusion we just barely avoided touching the buoy.

ALAUA VI and Genesis going around the HB mark. There was quite a bit of competition between the three of us as to who was going to get to the mark first and who would have the right of way.

Amy was the first of the crew to master the propane stove so she willingly added snack mistress to her resume.

After the autohelm broke away from the bulkhead I had to go into the lazzarette to keep it from damaging anything else and to see what could be salvaged.

We were forced to withdraw from the race and sail to Louisburg to make repairs.

After the repairs. We set off again under motor sail and in the morning we caught our first sight of St-Pierre and Grand Columbine.

While we were in port there was a music festival. This fellow was part of that and he showed up on the docks daily to entertain us. Facinating to watch how he managed to play all the instruments simultaneously.

Nelleke was supporting Breast Cancer Awareness and was flying some banners about Weekend to End Breast Cancer while in port.

Katerine, our hostess, arrives to make us welcome. She was absolutely wonderful to us during our stay in St-Pierre!

The fleet heads out for what was supposed to be the Grand Prix de St-Pierre, our last opportunity to redeem ourselves with prizes, but the lack of wind and the fog turned the whole business into a sailpast to salute the Bluenose II.

One thing sure...it was getting harder and harder to smile for the camera. Not because there was anything wrong - just fatigue.

With the heavy weather it was very difficult to get things dry. Amy opened her own laundrette to dry things.

This is a shot of the calm sea and sunset during our last leg of the trip home. The sea can change in minutes.
